Chemical Peels
Chemical Peels involve the application of a chemical solution to improve the skin’s appearance. Chemical peels work by ungluing the top layer of skin so it can peel away and reveal the fresh new skin beneath. By applying the peel to the skin, it can reduce or eliminate fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth, correct uneven skin pigmentation, soften acne and treat scars caused by acne. The procedure can also treat wrinkles caused by sun damage and scarring, as well as skin blemishes common with age and heredity. Chemical peels can be performed on the face, neck, décolleté, and hands. The procedure enables new, regenerated skin to appear, improving the appearance of the condition. Types of Chemical Peel Offered
Glycolic Acid Peel
Natural alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA); derived from sugar crops such as sugarcane and sugar beets. Good for normal to oily skin, helps to improve circulation by stimulating skin cells. Assists in fading acne scars, evens skin tone, and improves the appearance of light wrinkles. Considered a light peel.
Lactic Acid Peel
An alpha-hydroxy acid extracted from milk, it occurs as a natural metabolite of healthy skin cells so it doesnt irritate the skin. Good for dry skin. Improves hyperpigmentation, improves the appearance of light wrinkles, and smooths skin. Considered a light peel.
Salicylic Acid Peel
A beta-hydroxy acid. Good for oily, acne-prone skin. Helps unclog pores and treatment for hyperpigmented and hypopigmented skin. Considered a light peel, but tends to be deeper than an alpha-hydoxy acid peel.
Enhanced Jessner’s Peels
These light-to-medium depth peel formulas effectively exfoliate with blends of lactic, citric and salicylic acids and resorcinol, while bleaching and inhibiting pigment production with kojic acid and hydroquinone (where indicated). These peels help repair and reduce breakouts, control oil, soften lines and provide a more even, smoother skin texture. We will choose from one of three formulations- with or without hydroquinone – that is most suitable for your skin type and sensitivity.
Flower (Pyruvic) Acid Peel
This is an instant refresher treatment as a one-time procedure, or in a series for optimum results. It is a well-balanced peel that exfoliates gradually without the burn, Flower (Pyruvic) Acid is combined with Lactic Acid and Green Tea Acid which are natural humectants to stimulate cellular turnover and strengthen connective tissue fibers.
Ultra Alpha Beta Acid Peel
For oily and acne skins and more aggressive exfoliation. This intense alpha-beta peel (70% glycolic) consisting of hibiscus flower and acids fortified with salicylic, lactic, citric and tartaric acids. The Ultra Alpha Beta Acid Peel is an aggressive alpha-hydroxy peels for an intense peeling of surface skin in anti-aging skin treatments. It is used to decongest pores consistent with acne and allow basal cells to mature fully, strengthening the connective tissue matrix.
VI Peel
Vi Peel contains a synergistic blend of powerful ingredients suitable for all skin types.
VI Precision Peel
The Precision Peel is made from the same synergistic blend of ingredients as the VI Peel, but at a higher concentration, for a peel that is about 25% stronger than a VI Peel. Precision is an excellent addition for treating stubborn hyper pigmentation including melasma, actinic keratosis and age spots on hands, arms or chest. The Precision Peel is to be used in conjunction with the VI Peel. Contains TCA, Tretinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Phenol, Vitamin C and a mineral blend.
VI Peel Purify
Specifically formulated for acne prone skin. Acne is the most common skin problem in the United States and is caused by many factors affecting the skin. When pores in the skin become blocked, bacteria builds up leading to breakouts. The Purify Peel clears out dead cells to open pores, kills p.acnes bacteria and smooths inflammation and redness.
